Following on the heels of the hugely successful ‘Everyone Deserves A Christmas’, which saw 800 hampers prepared and packed at Mecca Swansea, and delivered to families in need in the Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot and Aberavon areas, Swansea East MP Carolyn Harris launched, Everyone Deserves An Easter via the Swansea City Foundation.
The launch took place on Friday 3rd March at the market garden of Swansea Market where Carolyn was joined by Lee Trundle of Swansea City FC, singer Mal Pope, two choirs from the DVLA and Pentrehafod Comprehensive School, and Miles Baron from The Bingo Association. The BA make a contribution to the foundations Everyone Deserves an Easter campaign every year mirroring the support that Mecca Bingo Swansea gives to the ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’ campaign.’
The Easter drive aimed to raise enough money to donate 250 food hampers with ingredients to cook a roast dinner along with a few extra Easter treats such as Easter Eggs.
Carolyn said: “It is a wonderful gift to be able to extend the Everyone Deserves campaign to Easter and give nominated families a lift when they might otherwise struggle to celebrate.
“My team and I fundraise year-round to make this happen and I am so grateful to everyone who has contributed to the campaign, you all deserve a very big thank you.”
