UK’s first National Bingo Day a big hit with players and operators

The Bingo Association was delighted that the first UK National Bingo Day was a great success, achieving its objectives of celebrating bingo, re-engaging with customers old and new and bringing land and online bingo together.

At the heart of National Bingo Day was the National Bingo Game, the flagship game of the land based Bingo Industry, and a great starting point around which to anchor a truly cross company Bingo sector event!

Bingo clubs saw their highest level of trading since May 17th recording a 20% increase on the week prior, with National Bingo Day itself achieving a 30% increase across the day and creating five Jackpot winners who shared the £100,000 giveaway: plus, hundreds more winners in each jackpot winning club receiving £100. The Jackpot wins were:

Afternoon: £50,000
Buzz Enfield, Buzz Motherwell and Club 3000 Greenock, with each winner receiving £16,666.67.

Evening: £50,000
Buzz Lincoln and Castle Swansea, with each winner receiving £25,000.

Earlier in the week a special value Bingo session on the Wednesday saw another significant business result, with a whopping 90% increase in the evening and 30% uplift in the afternoon.

The evening of Friday 25th June also saw Bingo Clubs raise more than £15,000 for Variety the Children’s charity, The Bingo Association charity, with over thirty MP’s attending their local Bingo Club to call a special charity game.

These great results were achieved despite social distancing constraints, which impacted capacity, reducing the ability of many bingo clubs to accommodate everyone who wanted to attend – in the absence of such restrictions who knows what the numbers would have been!

Overall the event was a huge success and also created a lot of media interest and social media activity, with the industry excited about National Bingo Day 2022 already and what can be achieved!
