National Bingo Day once again proved popular with operators and players alike, as activity in the build-up to bingo’s special day saw special games, prizes and charity events take place.
On Friday 23rd June clubs hosted special charity games to raise money for Variety, The Children’s Charity, which saw seventeen MPs join in. Each visited their local Bingo Club to talk with players and help raise funds for Variety, some taking at turn at the caller’s podium.
Bingo Clubs have raised over £1.7 m for Variety in the last five years and were presented with another opportunity to show how generous bingo customers can be. They did not let bingo down, raising at least £25,000 on the day alone!
Miles Baron CEO of The Bingo Association commented, “We were delighted to celebrate National Bingo Day again, with special games and promotions across the country bringing our bingo community together.
“We were also delighted to welcome so many MPs down to the clubs on Friday 23rd June to call the special charity game of bingo. I would like to thank all our members for their support and helping once again to raise much needed funds for our charity of choice.”
Adding to the excitement of the build-up, all jackpot prizes on the National Bingo Game were doubled for Sunday 25th June, making life changing £100,000 prizes available on every participating club, appeal to those attracted by big money prizes.
On National Bingo Day, clubs offered discounted prices and half-price tickets for the National Bingo Game, resulting in a 50 percent increase in volumes across the day.
National Bingo Day 2024 will take place on Thursday 27th June.
